Tomoca Coffee (Original Piassa Branch)
ቶሞካ ቡና
Founded in 1953, Tomoca is Ethiopia's most famous coffee roaster, and this tiny wood-paneled shop on Wavel Street is where it all began. Locals crowd the stand-up tables for dark-roasted macchiatos under vintage coffee-map murals. It's a pilgrimage site for coffee lovers and one of the best-value great coffees on earth.
☀️ Local tip
Order a macchiato at the bar and buy vacuum-packed beans to take home; it's cash-friendly and busiest mid-morning. There are 20+ branches now, but this original is the one that matters.
