Set in Emperor Haile Selassie's former palace on the Addis Ababa University campus, this is arguably the city's best museum: life-cycle exhibits covering dozens of Ethiopian cultures, a superb collection of icons and crosses, and the emperor's preserved bedroom and bathroom. The leafy campus itself is a pleasant wander.
☀️ Local tip
Don't miss the emperor's bedroom upstairs and the bullet-scarred mirror. Combine with the Yekatit 12 monument at nearby Sidist Kilo.
