Opened in 1948 by an Italian soldier who stayed on, Castelli is Addis's most famous restaurant: hand-rolled pasta, wood-paneled dining rooms and walls of celebrity photographs from Nelson Mandela to Beyoncé. The cannelloni and fresh fish are classics of Ethiopia's Italian legacy.

Dinner service is short (roughly 7-10pm) and it closes Sundays; book ahead and bring cash.
