African Jazz Village
The jazz club founded by Ethio-jazz godfather Mulatu Astatke, set in a traditional-style round hall in the leafy grounds of the historic Ghion Hotel. Expect serious Ethio-jazz sets from veteran and rising musicians, and, if you're lucky, appearances connected to Mulatu himself — recordings with the club's musicians were still happening in 2025.
☀️ Local tip
Thursday and Friday nights are the best for live sessions; arrive around 8-9pm and expect a modest cover (a few hundred birr).
