Poetic Saturdays is a grassroots first-Saturday-of-the-month open-mic for poetry and creative performance, hosted by Fendika since 2016 — typically an afternoon session (recent editions started around 1 pm), mostly in Amharic but explicitly open to any language; The Reporter documented performances in English, Oromiffa and even Chinese, and curious visitors are welcome to watch or read. Caveat: Fendika lost its original Kazanchis home in 2024 and its regular concerts moved to the Hyatt Regency, and no 2026 session of Poetic Saturdays has been independently confirmed — verify via facebook.com/poeticsaturdays or @fendikaculturalcenter before going.
